Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday celebrated in remembrance of the dead. Known as ‘Dia de Muertos’ in Spanish, it’s observed in Mexican communities throughout the U.S. as well as other parts of the world including Central and South America. Traditionally a gathering of family and friends to honor the memory of lost loved ones, Day of the Dead has evolved over time and today includes vigils to pay respect to fallen heroes in wars.
